This role is responsible for the overall management and ongoing monitoring of Amazon Logistics’ third-party Workers’ Compensation program at designated delivery sites. The Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager will be responsible for the development of claim handling processes and procedures that maintain internal controls as well as developing and collaborating successful partnerships among third party administrators (TPAs), vendors, and delivery service partners. This position provides supervision and technical coverage guidance to the claims, and provides claims handling advocacy to our Delivery Service Providers and other members of the Global Risk Management team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensures business is compliant with state specific Workers’ Compensation regulations and Amazon policies and guidelines.
· Serves as a Delivery Service Partner advocate.
· Develops and maintains the structure and performance of the claims database for recording all captive, insurance carrier and TPA claims information to support robust metrics and reporting to internal stakeholders.
· Oversees and monitor third-party administrator (TPA) and managed care vendor activities for compliance with contract provisions and performance including contract renewals; claim reviews; reserve reconciliations; claim audits with DSPs, insurers or third-party administrators; and stewardship reporting to stakeholders.
· Reviews and manages litigation including settlement recommendations, monitoring the effectiveness of defense counsel and creates and monitors internal policies, procedures and financial controls for the insurance program.
· Authorizes ancillary services, which includes: legal referrals, use of nurse case managers, investigations including surveillance, job analysis, lien resolution, Medicare set aside preparation, structured settlement proposals.


· Possess advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Available for domestic travel.
· 5+ years of Workers’ Compensation or related field experience.
· Multi-state expertise.


· Demonstrated knowledge of Workers’ Compensation claims management related laws and medical and legal terminology.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Workers’ Compensation related to last mile logistics operations.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to professionally communicate both verbally and written with employees and outside partners, recognizing and appropriately responding to others’ perspectives.
· Must be well organized, detailed oriented, and able to adjust to changing priorities.
· Experience using analytics and software to solve questions and challenges.
