Kraken is growing at an unbelievably rapid pace, during an incredibly exciting time in the crypto industry. Global People Operations Manager role at Kraken is absolutely vital to our company’s continued success. We highly value our unique culture at Kraken, and we will be entrusting this person to head-up the charge to not only maintain a phenomenal employee experience, but take it to even new heights. You will be responsible for many facets of the “Krakenite Employee Experience (KX)”, from overseeing our recruiting initiatives to co-leading our HR efforts. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, innovative, creative, has outstanding character, and possesses an incredible knack for understanding human nature.

Requirements

    • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
    • A minimum of 7 years of professional human resources experience
    • A minimum of 2 of the 7 years was spent as an official manager of people within the human resources department 
    • A minimum of 2 of the 7 years was spent at a technology company, startup, or high growth company that had globally distributed, work-from-home teams, as well as international offices of various sizes
    • Proven track record of building and improving employee experience
    • Strong knowledge of state, federal and international employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements 

    • Specific past experiences:
    • Implemented and refined processes, programs, documentation, HRIS systems, etc.
    • Calculated the results of existing practices, programs, documentation, HRIS or other systems, etc. on a monthly basis
    • Constantly sought out opportunities to improve
    • Quickly identified, designed and implemented new solutions when there was enhanced efficiency, effectiveness, risk mitigation, and cost reduction to be gained
    • Prioritized and promoted multiple processes or projects simultaneously
    • Demonstrated expertise with both practical and significant conflict resolution, performance management, and employee relations at all levels in a complex and fast-paced environment
    • Worked with alternate workforces on a daily basis, including consultants, agency staff, and BPOs
    • Worked in an HR Generalist role

Responsibilities

    • Learn, adopt and protect the company values, principles and culture 
    • Set objectives for the HR team, assign prioritization, evaluate progress, and identify opportunities to improve
    • Track and improve all key HR quantitative metrics (e.g., cost per hire, retention rates, etc.) and qualitative data (e.g., exit interview feedback, etc.) 
    • Manage internal communication projects (e.g., job satisfaction surveys, company-wide presentations, departmental reports, etc.)
    • Measure the effectiveness of our benefits programs, identify worker personas, propose a new benefits program, and calculate the cost-benefit
    • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports

    • Policies and procedures
    • Design and implement employee Handbook, company policies and procedures
    • Maintain HR procedures that comply with labor regulations
    • Provide direction to others on how to review and when to update our employment contracts and agreements
    • Ensure ALL policies, procedures and processes are up-to-date and clearly documented in highly intuitive, consumable, error-proof ways; utilize screenshots, step-by-step directions, flowcharts, and strive to create top quality user manuals 

    • Oversee systems
    • Ensure HRIS (and other systems) is successfully adopted and effectively managed
    • Implement functional HRIS and internal databases across all departments
    • Design, implement and manage an HR ticketing system for internal requests 
    • Research, implement, and promote new systems as they’re needed

    • Attract talent
    • Support and suggest improvements to the entire recruitment processHost in-house recruitment events or oversee conference-held recruitment efforts
    • Contribute to the company blog, YouTube channel, and social media channels

    • Motivate & engage talent
    • Design and manage the performance evaluation systems
    • Develop compensation and benefits plans (and revisions)
    • Discuss career development paths with managers and individuals
    • Design management training and basic workplace HR training programs
    • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives

    • Act as a strong partner to other groups
    • Work with Executives and Management to ensure employee or departmental requests and grievances are resolved in a timely manner; drive projects that help managers optimize productivity, engagement and morale
    • Work with Legal to address legal and regulatory requirements for all workforce groups around the world; resolve interpersonal conflict utilizing creative, thoughtful and case-by-case strategies as needed
    • Work with IT&S to ensure our record keeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements; help drive projects that protect company security
    • Work with Finance to prepare budgets by department and facilitate remote working bonuses, payroll, paid time off, terminations, etc.
